From Suffering Comes Unbounded Joy

A long, twisted road full of holes and roadkill. Only an inept rider would ever dare to climb the brutal mountain. Only his strength against the power of gravity. With each pedal stroke getting him closer to the summit, closer to his finale. Each gasp for air brings him that much closer to when this torture will finally subside.

The climbs becoming more unforgiving now. The rider no longer feels the same tranquility as when first beginning this outrageous pursuit for the top. The riders feelings transform from a peaceful calm to unmatched anguish.

Every breath is a prayer, a prayer for the end of the ride to ultimately arrive. Every pedal stroke, every push is pure agony.

The rider has turned from man to machine now. His legs move no longer for the pleasure of the ride, but now they move out of habit. They move without pain, they move to get him to the top. The ride is no longer the joyous adventure that it started out as, but now it has turned into the opposite; an agonizing, hurtful climb that has torn the rider down.

As the end gradually approaches the rider feels the joy that was once lost. He now remembers the reason he continued to push, pedal stroke by pedal stroke. He remembers why he trained those four long months in preparation for this monumental event.

As he crosses the line tears fall from his eyes. The mixture of unrivaled suffering and the unparalleled pleasure overpowers him as he drops the bike to the ground. The ride is over as is the pain, that is, until next year.

Beauty Is The Soul

A good friend of mine wrote this, and I wanted to share it with the world. Her view of beauty should inspire us all.

Behold the beauty that is known as me.

I am in no terms absolutely beautiful.
But I believe that I have moments when beauty comes to mind.
I believe that I have beauty in my character,
and in my opinion some days my face is beautiful,
if you think i sound self-centered I don’t mean it to sound that way.
In my opinion every person has something beautiful about them.
It may not be their looks, or character. It could be anything.
It is said that “beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.”
So I guess it all depends who’s point of view you are going by.

Beauty can be found in the detours and the mistakes in life.
I found that detours aren’t always bad, and sometimes the view is better.
So the road has a lot more twists and turns because,
you had to take the route through the countryside but..
I think the curves in the road make it fun.
What does the main road hold?
A straight road, with less surprises and little scenery.
Yeah it’s quicker, and it gets you where you are going but..
It sounds boring, maybe not to everyone but it does to me.

Beauty in life can be found where you least expect it.
A woman who wasn’t ready for a child, accidentally gets pregnant,
one year later the beauty found in her baby’s smile is the most beautiful thing she has ever seen. It’s not what she expected at all.

A man in love with a woman, can describe her as beautiful. He’s not necessarily talking about her body, or looks. He usually means the woman as a whole, everything this woman is. But what one man sees as beautiful, his friend may not see what the man in love does.

Lots of people see a lot of beauty in the world when they are in love, but you don’t have to be in love to see the world as beautiful. Just look around, there may be a lot wrong in the world but the beauty is there. If you take time to look, actually look, not just a passing glance, there are many beautiful things in this world.

alright thats my piece for tonight.

Make a plan to love me.

Kathy.

Color Me Music

Has anyone ever noticed how music can change your mood? I am sure there is a scientific study out there about it, but I can tell you right now that I am way too lazy to go look for it.

I have met people that claim that music has a adverse effect on their mood, but not me. When I am happy, I listen to happy songs, mad, mad songs, depressed, depressing songs and when I am in love, I listen to love songs. Music doesn’t really effect me to where it changes my mood, but rather it enhances my mood. It just happens to up the ante.

Most of my friends claim that music effects them so much that it has the ability to change the way they are feeling and personally I think they are full of poo. Music may seem to have magical powers but a person isn’t going to change the way the feel just because of a song. The only way they are going to change is if they want to.

Music is amazing, I admit, but it can’t change how you feel, just enhance it.

The Beginning Of The End

My exams are finally over. Thank goodness. I am some what nervous about the classes I am taking next semester. Oh the joys of weight lifting.

School starts back on Wed. and I am kind of scared to meet my new teachers. Granted only 2 of them are new, at least to me. I think I am most nervous about Pre-Cal. It is going to be a class of around 30 and most of them are my friends.

I have heard that the teacher is fairly tough and I know that we are going to get kicked out of that class at least once. Oh and on top of that there is no way that I will be able to pay attention. Time for a tutor.

I’m Fixed!

I finally got my computer fixed. It only took us two weeks to figure out what was wrong but we finally got it.

There ended up being 2 things that we had to fix instead of the original one problem that we knew of. So we would delete the one virus that we saw and every time I would use the computer after that it would some how reappear. Come to find out, there was a second virus that was reinstalling the first one every time we got rid of it. Once we figured that out it was no problem fixing it, and now I am happy to say that my computer is virus free!
