I’m Infected

Turns out that maybe being safe is better than not. And no I’m not talking about safe sex, I’m talking about computer viruses. My main computer has been infected with one that just won’t seem to go away. I have run anti virus, anti spy-wear and I am now running another softwear program to see if just maybe it will resolve the problem.

Thankfully my dad is good with computers and has been helping me try to get rid of this problem. Although it was more like he has told me to more while he tries to fix whatever I did. I am getting blamed for things that I never downloaded, but hey whatever, that’s what happens when something goes wrong on a computer that is owned by someone who is suppose to know what they are doing.

So now I am sitting here on my mom’s laptop writing this blog while watching Whose Wedding Is It Anyway?

God, I hate computers. :P .

Hello, I Miss You Quite Terribly

Regardless of the fact that technology is all around us it is easy to feel far away from the people you love. Most of us know what it is like to live far from a loved one, whether it be a family member, close friend or lover, we have all gone through it. As easy as it is to pick up a phone and call the person, we can’t help but feel distant, probably because we are a good distance away. I know from experience that when you have family that live 3,000 miles or so away it is very difficult to get close, stay close, or even communicate sometimes. I love and miss my family very much, and yes at times I do with that I lived closer to them, but then I remember my friends.

Ah, my friends, what would I ever do without them? They are my anchor in this storm tormented sea. As much as I would love to be near my family again, I can’t help but feel as though I would be losing all my friends who I have grown to love very much. I can’t stand the thought of going through life without them.

So as much as we may want to be near those we have always known, you must keep in mind the ones you know now. The ones that have accepted the person you are now, and don’t remember what you look like in diapers. So as hard as it maybe to pick up the phone, you must remember that sometimes it is the best thing you can do.

Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy

I have come to the conclusion that I am addicted to sappy love songs. I just can’t seem to get enough of them. From that song on that silly commercial, which has now been dubbed as “my commercial”, Coffee Shop – Landon Pigg, to the cute song in Shrek the 3rd, Best Days – Matt White. Every song is just so cute. I can’t help but fall in love with them all. Not to mention all the more popular songs, Here In Your Arms – Hellogoodbye, Hanging By A Moment – Lifehouse, and plenty of others.

I guess it is just the mood I have been in recently. I have fallen in love with everything that is good. I have never been so happy. Granted, there are a few things that keep bringing me down, but there are so many ‘happy’ things to cheer me up how could I ever be sad?

For every one thing that drags me down I have at least 10 things to cheer me up. But then again, with the friends that I have it is hard to ever be in a bad mood. They are there to make you happy, and trust me, they do a great job at it.

For everyone person there is someone that all those sappy love songs are about.

Be Careful Or Be Road-Kill

Ever had a car zip right past you while you were out on a Sunday morning ride? I think almost all of us have. It seems that some people are just hateful towards anything that is on the road and isn’t a car. It is people like this that you have to watch out for.

Cycling is a great sport, but you always have to be aware of your surroundings. There are still idiots out there who don’t care if the wind from their monstrous SUV knocks you off the road into a ditch. So, because of that there are a few rules that you always should follow when ridding.

1.) If you are riding without a group on a road try to ride about a foot in from the white line. The reason being, if you ride on the white line drivers assume that they can make it past you without moving out into the other lane any. And that can cause major problems, for you anyway. But if you are about a foot or so into the lane they will automatically pass you with almost an entire lane to spare. This might make them mad but it could save you in the end.

2.) When riding in a group, try to be considerate of the drivers on the road. That means that on busier roads be sure to ride in a single line, and when riding on more rural roads moving over so that cars can pass easier.

If you listen to these rules and are very careful you won’t be road-kill, hopefully.

Too Blind To See

What do you do when someone you know is walking down the wrong path in life, but is too stubborn to admit that they are doing anything wrong? I am in that situation right now in life. One of my close friends is too blind to see that something is wrong with the way she is living her life.

I have chosen to distance myself from her, because I know that I personally do not want to be involved with whatever she might get in trouble with. It just hurts me that no matter what I say or do she won’t stop what she is doing. Within this past year she has changed so much that I don’t recognize her anymore. Sometimes I wish that I could do more but after sitting down and thinking about it I have realized that no matter what I do she is never going to listen to reason and that she is just going to have to make her own mistakes.

As mush as it hurts to see her mess up and get in trouble I know that that is what I will have to do. That is why I can’t be around her too much anymore. I know that if something was to happen, I, as her best friend, would automatically get involved in it and that is the last thing I want. I guess time really does reveal the person you really are.
